About RayCastLab

RayCastLab is a one-room studio. No publisher, no roadmap written by a spreadsheet — just games shipped when they are actually finished.

Why the studio exists

Most mobile puzzle games are built around the moment you get stuck. A timer runs out, a life counter empties, a paywall appears — and the game quietly suggests that money would fix it. The puzzle was never the point.

We wanted the opposite: a game where getting stuck means the puzzle is genuinely hard, and where getting unstuck means you got better at it. That principle decided almost every design argument we had while building Arrow Away.

What that looks like in practice

We removed the move limit
Arrow Away shipped with a move counter for months. It capped how long a board could be, which capped how big and interesting a board could get. So it went — losing is still possible, but only by making three real mistakes.
The difficulty curve is measured, not guessed
Every one of the 1000 levels is generated, solved and scored at build time. A test fails the build if the average difficulty of any slice of the game stops climbing.
Nothing you earned disappears
Close the app halfway through a board and it returns exactly as you left it — including which arrows already cost you a life, so the same mistake never charges you twice.
One purchase, not a subscription
Ads can be removed once, permanently. There is no currency, no energy meter, and nothing that expires.
